The 5-Second
Clarity Checklist

Ten questions across four chapters. Scored 0-10. Find out exactly where your website is losing leads and what to do about it.

Yes or No only. No "well, kinda" answers. We're not doing that.

Chapter One

Instant Clarity

(or lack thereof)

01The 5-second test

Can someone tell what you do in 5 seconds or less?

"We provide innovative solutions" doesn't count. That means nothing.

02The audience test

Is it immediately clear who your business is for?

If your answer is "everyone"... congratulations, it's for no one.

03The headline test

Does your headline focus on the customer's problem, not just what you offer?

"Welcome to our site!" is not a headline. It's a waste of pixels.

Chapter Two

Story Structure

(aka: are you the hero or the guide?)

04The hero test

Do you position the customer as the hero, and yourself as the guide?

Nobody cares about YOUR journey. They care about THEIRS. You're Yoda, not Luke.

05The transformation test

Do you speak to benefits and transformation, not just features?

"We offer A, B, and C"... cool story. But what does that DO for me?

06The before/after test

Is there a clear "before" and "after" implied in your messaging?

People need to see the transformation. Where they are now → where they could be.

Chapter Three

Conversion Path

(aka: what am I supposed to do now?)

07The next step test

Is there ONE clear next step on your homepage?

Not 10 buttons. Not a choose-your-own-adventure. ONE thing. What is it?

08The jargon test

Do you avoid jargon and industry speak that confuses visitors?

If you've used "synergy", "leverage", or "bleeding-edge" unironically — we need to talk.

09The About page test

Does your About page tell a story, not just list credentials?

No one cares that you graduated in 2003. They care WHY you do this and if you can help them.

Chapter Four

Differentiation

(aka: could this be anyone's site?)

10The swap test

Could your messaging work for any competitor, or is it uniquely yours?

If I swapped your logo for a competitor's and nothing changed, that's a problem.

0 of 10 answered.
